Keith Ferguson is organizing the event. Up to ten designers can sign up for a table to have their prototypes playtested.
As with all UnPub events, all gamers are welcome to come and try out new game design prototypes and provide feedback to the designers. It's a great opportunity to see the state of the art in independent boardgame design. UnPub has been something of an incubator for new games, and this is a first time for an UnPub event in Chantilly (and as far as I know, anywhere in Virginia).
As of this writing, five designers have signed up so far. (Games listed are registered UnPub games that may or may not be tested at this UnPub Mini event.)
- Keith Ferguson (Santa's Workshop)
- Max Jamelli (Lords of Baseball, Wrestling Wars)
- Kiva Fecteau (Gridrunners, Kuchukua, Shigami, Tiny Epic Battles)
- Mike Karg (Aesop's Gambit, Boondoggle)
- Paul Owen (Reactor Scram)
I will be bringing "East India Company," but my primary interest is in getting "Reactor Scram" to the table and eliciting some comments on it. I'm also looking forward to trying out other games. There's always a new discovery at an UnPub event, and that's what I enjoy most at these designer workshops. I hope to see plenty of other gamers make their own discoveries as well.
